Panel description: A report from the National Center for Education Statistics shows that the proportion of women in computer and information sciences has dwindled in the past 20 years. In addition, the percentage of women receiving bachelor-level degrees in computer or information sciences has declined from a peak of 35.8 percent in 1984 to 26 percent today. Among the science and engineering workforce, computer science is the only area where women's participation has declined since 1993. Please join us for a round table discussion about how we can encourage our young women to engage in careers in technology.
