• Educational Testing Service (ETS) ICT Literacy Assessment
The Educational Testing Service is currently conducting quality assurance on a new assessment. This site offers a sample test and further information. They suggest that "technology" is the 4th basic literacy. A demo test indicates the focus is on information search, retrieval and interpretation, rather than the other "literacy" focuses on the use and background of the technology itself.
• Ohio Computing Unlimited - International Computer Driving License - Ohio Program
An Ohio state-wide effort to introduce a program begun in Europe to standardize introductory information and skills for the basic hardware and software modules anyone would expect to be found in a classroom or workplace. Currently offered in about 130 countries, it has the potential to become the basis for a broadly accepted standard of computing technology understanding.
