The "future" is upon us
As an increasing number of jobs require better-than-entry level computer skills to succeed, Ohio is embarked on a campaign to advance the level of computing skills across the workforce and the student body at all level of education.

By incorporating the International Computer Driving License (ICDL) into this program, Ohio acquires key advantages:

  • A standard definition of "basic computing skills"
  • A standard syllabus (course outline) openly published and available to all educators
  • A validated, performance-based certification program, allowing computing consumers to prove their skill, and acquire an internationally-recognized certificate

Key facts about computing and ICDL:

  • ICDL is currently active in more 130 countries around the world,
  • Over 6 million candidates have achieved or are in the process of achieving their ICDL
  • Employers and planners in the US and abroad agree that the skills covered in the program enhance job performance and career opportunities
